I sound like a dream huh? Blimey the OH is a lucky man.

I need something easily slip on and offable. My normal footwear is crocs in the house and hiking boots out, but this popping out to hang washing/check on chickens/stand and look at garden is having a detrimental affect on my flooring... such as it is (we haven't put the carpets down yet!)

Now, I think little wellies with fat calf spaces should be fine - they do them for kids no worries but I can't find them for adults.

Any recommendations please?

Rubber backless clogs? I have several pairs which lie around the house at each exit, ready to be slipped on, kicked off. Some are outside, full of rainwater. Cheap and cheerful, think LIDL.

Chuckie boots would serve the purpose.
I have a pair of wellies that fractured at the heel so I cut them down to the fracture. Great for walking the dog on dewy mornings but tend to cut into your ankle if worn for a longer period.

PS For a man, rigger boots are ideal!

2 pairs of Crocs? One for inside, one for outside? (they let the mud in the holes though don't they?) I was using hard-soled slippers/mules for in the garden, but now it's muddy I'm going to use cut-down wellies (50p in charity shop)

I do have indoor and outdoor crocs at the moment - but I have three doors to outside and am appallingly lazy, so generally if I'm at the wrong door I just shuffle out in my indoor crocs. I know, shameful.

And crocs allow your feed to get wet - and muddy.

I spent hours today in go outdoors, and ended up passionate about a pair of merrel fur lined winter brown leather boots at £130.

I didn't buy them, but I did get to the till before seeing reason.

I'm trying hard to think of a joke involving "not having to make sacrifices" and "fatted calves", but I don't really know why...
Try a workwear company like Arco or Carhartts, they will do the full range of sizes of fur lined rigger boots, which comes in ladies sizes but never, ever except once in a blue moon sell in ladies sizes (I speak from experience) - so you should be able to get them at a knockdown price, and you will never want to wear anything else on a winter's day...
