    So, I always said I wouldn't, couldn't, shouldn't. But I have.

I've grown to hate shopping with a passion. For the last year Mr Z has happily taken my list and spent a valuable Friday evening at the shops, texting me if things aren't there, or coming back with forgotten things which means I have to pop in a few days later to pick other things up etc etc etc. Hate it hate it hate it. I went into town yesterday and it just gets worse nearer Christmad.

So, I have booked my first Ocado shop. It's coming later this evening.

There were two things we needed, one before the shop was coming and one isn't on the list - so Mr Z popped to the co-op to get those two items [successfully]. Took him 2 mins in and out [yay].

So, we shall see. If this is successful we will do a big shop once a fortnight with them and just get milk inbetween.

I suppose I'm well behind the times but hopefully niggles in the system are well ironed out these days. And they recycle the bags they deliver.

I only use the deliveries now if I have a voucher for free delivery - Tesco send me one every few months when they think I've given up online shopping

I don't mind getting the shopping, but I'd never do a big weekly shop *shudders*. I tend to go between 3-5pm when things are reduced and the mums have gone home.
I did try doing a weekly shop with Himself, to try and get him "involved" with the house chores: it was so stressful I would seriously really rather do it all myself, with a list.

Ocado delivery is free over £70 and mine is only 99p tonight. That's why we thought if it works, doing a big one once a fortnight and just buying perishable food in the interim.

£70 is a lot (unless it's gin, lol). Ocado aren't anywhere near us

I always used to do my shopping online when I was in UK and working - I still popped in on the way home from work occasionally but I found things like bottles, tins and veg were much easier to have delivered. I don't think it has caught on here in France and I don't expect that anyone will ever deliver here to the back of beyond anyway Hope it works out well for you.

You're right! We had got our shops down to £30 a week max, so perhaps every 3 weeks might be a better bet. Just all the heavy stuff.

I used Sainsbugs on line when I had a 'proper' job. Very useful, as I haaaaaaaate shopping. Being a devious c*w, I used to arrange delivery for when I was out and Mr.G would be at home, so it was packed away when I got in!

However, he likes shopping, so I'm happy to let him go. If he forgets something, or they don't have a particular item, we go without. He passes several shops on his way home, so most of the time he just pops in and grabs what we need, en route. Works for us.

I used Sainsbugs on line - once- I selfishly arranged delivery for the day I got hit by a car... it was left on the kitchen floor in the bags for 2 days.

I get one big delivery from Sainsbugs once a month (including milk, which goes in the freezer). Delivery is free over £100 on tues/wed/thurs

We supplement this with 2 veg boxes a week, and the occasional trip to the local co-op.

I HATE going shopping (food or clothes!) so this works really well... been doing it for over 5 years!

Well, if Mr T-S was in the hospital worried about you - he has an excuse. Of course, if he wasn't.....

Zaz, just when I was about to type a love-post to you about using Latin in a post-name, I realised it was a pun...oh the Vine just gets better and better.
HOW do you people manage to use supermarkets so little? I get a veg box, go to farmer's market to buy my weight in apples every week, make bread and grow as much as poss at home, yet still spend loads every single week on my online sainsbugs...Zazen, Ocado is a million times more delicious but I find I spend valuable milk money on bonkers ingredients I can't resist...
is it b/c I have schoolage children and no allotment? and no organic dairy herd or chickens? you have impressed me all no end but now I'm very very envious er I mean politely puzzled

We use a list. Never deviate.

Anyway - my slot was 9-10 and I'm still waiting. I got a phone call to say he was running late, it would be about 10:30 and....still waiting. So - this might be my one and only internet shop.

I had a (one and only) bad experience with online grocery shopping....and never again!!

                              He's here.

In a van! I was thinking he was going to turn up with a tartan shopping trolly.

I have yet to check all the items off.....
