Hunters now are not the Hunters of yesteryear. Cheaply produced. The footbed is changed and not in a good way. Echo comments on Le Chameau but you will need to sell a kidney to buy them. Joules make half decent wellies, about £35. Always line with thick walking socks from Millets. If you want a waterproof moulded boot then look at riding/equestrian/country stores. There are some Irish made ones at my local store, name escapes me but they are beautifully made.
Barbour make top end boots too but that's another kidney gone...

When I used to do outdoor shows with Forsham Cottage Arks, I wore either HiTek light weight walking boots, or Town and Country wellies (depending on the weather conditions).

I could stand up all day in both these types of boots, which was really important. I slipped on MrPB's cheapo wellies the other day to do a quick job, and was nearly crippled by them!! We take the same size shoe, but his have no arch support at all. I couldn't wear them for longer than a couple of minutes.

As above Hunters have had a rough time of it, they're production has improved lately, returns are down greatly. If you do buy hunter, try to avoid ones that come in a bag, and/or have a white mottled appearance to them, they are older stock when things were not quite as rosey!
We also sell Joules boots, we do see quite a high return on these within 12 months, somethings not quite right so far, i'm sure they are working on it!
My own personal choice for fishing is muck boots, Tay - with the real chunky sole, lovely and warm and they just seem to fit my feet well.
Le Chameau are extreme quality footwear, i dont favour the entry level boot - country/all track as much as the mid range vierzonord with a neoprene lining, and the chasseur with full leather lining is a lovely boot - if you can justify £200 on a pair of wellies!

any wellie equals cold feet, I always wear rigger boots and some are quite nice to look at now, warm, dry, cheap and they last for years.
