Since its before the watershed I'm not sure that you should read this:

Roman snails mate on damp nights when the weather is cool. Mating can take several hours. It starts with the male and female circling each other and touching each others tentacles. Then they raise the front part of their bodies and press their soles against each other.

And I thought I was mad???
Thanks for the links. I had snails in garlic butter with crusty bread last night and they were awesome. A bit like mussels. Dont fancy growing mussels as it would be a total disaster with me living inland. I used to keep snails as pets as a kid tho. Drove my parents mad. Hmmmm right then. Was hoping to speak to someone who does it tho. Dont want to sell them. Want to EAT them!

Re the North Wales mussels - I hear they have moved to Anglesey, to give the Dee Estuary cockles a bit of peace. So best not reintroduce them. Stick to their chewy landlubber cousins!

I caught a couple at it once in the lid of my bin, they must be a bit like dogs while in the act, it took a hell of a tug to free them.

ha ha sorry no pun intended!!

I think you're on your own Trailblazing snails. You'll have to learn to talk to yourself.

Didn't Jamie Oliver collect snails from the garden and keep them in a jar, purifying them, then fed them to his kids, seems like a harsh punishment to me. I wonder what they had done?

If we can eat escargot how come we don't eat limaces?

As if having Jamie Oliver for a father wasn't punishment enough!
Would save time in the preparation. (PS I had to look it up)

                          parlez-vous anglais?

Apparently they have an inner shell, not quite sure if you are meant to extract it?

                              limaces kebob, mmm interesting.

It would have to be heavily seasoned.

Kentucky Fried Limaces, Big Mac'limace, puts a whole new slant on Fast food - as opposed to Baldrick's Slow Food movement
