Whitby is lovely! Last year Pigletwillie and I stayed at Kimberley House Very central (literally a two minute stroll to the harbour) but also very quiet and civilised. Fab breakfasts, super clean room with ensuite and a lovely hospitable welcome from the couple who own it. Very much recommended.

Our favourite place to eat was Humble Pie 'n' Mash Really good food, not stupidly pricey and a brilliant atmosphere
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."

Another fab guest house is "Bramblewick", just round the corner from the Kimberley. It was run by two retired journalists from the Guardian.

We were married in Whitby! Brought up just inland from there and spent many happy hours meandering about, and blustery days on Sandsend beach, ah, happy memories.....

            Enjoy it, lovely spot.
