It depends on the animal and the situation.
For example, if one particular animal isn't as adapted for a certain environment - i.e. replaced by a superior herbivore/carnivore then, sadly, that's nature. Everything has an end.
Also, it is believed that over one hundred species become extinct every single day. Just thought I'd throw that in.Garden Chris

Glad some of those dinosaurs did ......don't fancy coming face to face with a T.Rex when I'm out with the dog. On the other hand I'd quite like to see a Dodo......S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig

When the likes of polar bears, tigers, and pandas become extinct, the world will be a less beautiful place.
What makes it more ugly is that human beings have caused the accelerated extinction, by becoming so good at survival and adaptation.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

Everythings linked to humans. We destroy animals habitats and they go extinct. We try and save animals usually the ones with 'cow eyes' or fluffy bunny types. We would welcome a lot of things going extinct like Miximatosis, diptheria, HIV, Hepatitus and a miriad of other 'not so nice' viruses.
I wonder what Mr Darwins reply would be?My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Probably something along the lines of:
1. Variation: There is Variation in Every Population.
2. Competition: Organisms Compete for limited resources.
3. Offspring: Organisms produce more Offspring than can survive.
4. Genetics: Organisms pass Genetic traits on to their offspring.
5. Natural Selection: Those organisms with the Most Beneficial Traits
are more likely to Survive and Reproduce.
