    Hello Everyone,
This is the only forum I belong to. I won't even consider finding another to even compare. I like to read what everyone is growing and to view the pics etc on their blogs. I am a total novice, and any info is gratefully received. I only have the smallest of raised beds and loads of tubs planned for veg, but I am storing all the info for next year when I hopefully get an allotment (I'm number 16 on the list). I felt so welcomed the first timed I posted. I'm addicted

I'm a newbie on here, but I'm a long standing member of one or two other sites.....mainly football related....well Sheffield Wednesday at least.

To be honest, this site seems incredibly polite by comparison!!!

However, the vine has really opened my eyes to lots of things in the short time I've been a member. I have learned quite a bit, and more importantly, I have realised how much more the allotmenteering can offer in terms of storing produce, recipes and winemaking etc.

The people here are so friendly and knowlegable.

I only found the site because I did a google search on spade sharpening!

I'm hooked. It took some persuading (from another Grape) for me to join up, because I thought it would be cliquey and anorakey, but hey, whaddya know? I'm on here most days now.
I go up the Lottie, and think 'what can I show to the Grapevine?' It's nice to share your interest with other people...even up on the lottie, not everyone "gets" me...there's a lot of straight lines/bare earth types up there, but it's improving, with a lot of new, younger people (women and children mostly)
The only request I would have of other Grapes is 'put a photo of yourself on, and include some info in your public profile...it makes you more approachable, more real (even if you fib a bit)

Hi Two Sheds, I have a pic in my profile. And a cartoon avatar on that thread. Saw your pic, but can't remember an avatar. You could give it a go.
And yes, agree with what everyone has said. It is like meeting your gardening friends everyday. And so much information of all kinds - what a great bunch.

I LIKE your pic, you look like a movie star Alice!
I don't like cartoon avatars...too much trickery, too much fakery

Been a long time since I came onboard but I have always found the Vine to be a very addictive enjoyable place to visit. It's nice to be back actually!

I'd never really wanted to join a forum, but couldn't help but be drawn in by the friendly atmosphere of the vine. It's got just the right mix of good advice and the chance to have a laugh. Great stuff!

Or you could come to me Jardiniere, just arrive in Berbiguieres and ask for the Brit at Les Fromages!

My complaint is that there are so many new posts each time I come on that I spend so much time reading them thatI don't get to post myself!
It's not the growing old I mind but the growing stupid with it!

Only joined here a few days ago but already looking forward to my visits. Picked up a lot of info and good tips so far, and everyone sounds so friendly. I belong to a couple of other forums for different interests, one I rather like but the other can be very highhanded at times especially from the longterm members on there. This one is fast becoming my favourite place to visit.
Thank you everyone for so readily, and graciously accepting a new member.
