School CRB check is, I think, £60. Schools have a shortage of volunteers for doing things like hearing readers ...

Mr TS has just had to go to Africa for a 4-day meeting thingy. Jabs £180, visa £50, flight was over 3 grand :shocked smiley:

Just had my public liability and tool insurance quote through the post. £915-49p think I may be doing a web search this year.

Assessments for Gas Safe registration next year and although that has gone down in price it will still be well plus of £1000.

Then folks wonder why we charge so much.

Van insurance leapt from £630.00 to £1420.00, darned points.

Any they 'decent'? I need to find a suitable plumber (who is neat - I'm quite picky) that can move a gas pipe (re-doing my kitchen in the new year)

Me too. We're a small band of mostly retired teachers. I don't understand why more people don't do this, it's very rewarding and desperately needed

I have considered volunteering at our local pre-school, but can only afford a day or so a month (taken as holiday).

I wouldn't mind so much if there was any point, I've had a CSCS card since they came out. Never been asked for it when I visit site (despite it supposedly being a requirement on half of them) and didn't think it proved anything anyway. Tis just a memory test of multiple choice.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

The cost of the criminal record check
                              A check costs:
                              £26 – standard CRB check
                              £44 – enhanced CRB check
Some organisations may pay for the check for you, or you may have to pay a processing charge for your application. Check with your employer.
If you are a volunteer, it’s free of charge. Check with your recruiting organisation if you qualify.
