Mastering the art of tacking-up one handed will take a while, if there's no one around to stop you! and the feeling of satisfaction is immense.

I even had a good night's sleep on Sat (and indeed Sunday) night!
Well, I am delighted that you have missed out on that experience, here's hoping it continues, if only medicine could replicate it...!
But the important thing is, can you still molest mollusca ?There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Lots of sympathies SlugLobber. Hope the pain is getting to be managable and the servant training is going well.
One handed riding sounds good, just don't tell the horse or he will know how to misbehave instantly. :-)
A while back, I broke my knee catching a large humaoid lump falling out of the attic and heading head-first down the stairs. Broke his fall and I broke my knee instead. Had I known what I now know about him, I'd have let him fall and break his neck !!!!
I can totally sympathise with the pain. I have never known pain like it. I'd wake up in the night just to take the pain-killers so I can go to sleep again.‘you cannot discover new oceans unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore'

Humanoid lump! He he he!
Glutton, I've done it before. Years ago I tore my rotator cuff and couldn't raise my arm. Once on I could hold reins, but one handed tacking up isn't new to this girl.
..and there's no-one to tell me off. I'm half joking, really, but Henry is incredibly trustworthy. I'm always bumbling along one-handed anyway!
Sounds like I've been seriously lucky with the lack of pain. I did wake up a couple of times last night, slightly uncomfortable, but fell asleep straight away each time! If my hand wasn't truly useless, I'd think they muddled up x-rays, but the swelling pattern said it all, really, plus the wonky angle!!
Should add that it does bloody hurt if I try to use it - can't even hold a toothbrush!Last edited by SlugLobber; 29-11-2011, 07:39 PM.

No vc, it's just that the electrons move slower up here...it's the Highland Time Warp.
A hielandman was once asked by a bemused tourist if he had ever heard a Gaelic equivalent of the Mexican word "manana".
"No," he said, "What would that be, whateffer ?"
His visitor explained that it was the philosophy of not doing today what could be postponed until the day after.
"Och no," came the answer, "We would not be haffing any word to express such a concept of urgency !"There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Do you think it is the rugged terrain, veggie ?
Sorry to hijack the thread folks...but hey, if my sense of humour doesn't let Sluglobber know there are worse things to have than a broken wrist, well nothing will !There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.

Well, I'm tempted to say elbow to your superior judgement, as long as it's armless...I daresay there are folk who think we are cracking up here, and others who are splitting their sides (we could rib them for that), while some will just be glad that the looming threat of a thread full of underlying puns shuttling to and fro has been averted. But if we don't watch ourselves, we may find ourselves hauled up on the carpet, and given a verbal beating by the mods. (Beaten up by mods ! It's never been an ambition of mine.)
Never mind what underlay this, I think a night out on the tiles is called for !There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
