YES! YES! YES! But as it is made only a few miles from where I live I didn't want to sound too partisan.

The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

        Mmm.... cheese on toast

But, made with the local Lancashire from just up the road that is really strong and crumbly

And with a big blob of mayonnaise to dip it into....

        Oh the calories!!!

Late night snack - if i take my digestive system in my own hands has to be crumpet with marmite and melted cheese and poss some may between. As eating wheat causes me probs I'd settle for a piece of Village Bakery Rossisky rye bread with same.

Although sometimes a good handful of nuts and fruit - one of those scrummy "luxury" mixes with cranberries and things will do.

Depends on the mood cos sometimes my bored teeth will settle for a good hot chocolate with squirty cream and sprinkles and a few wine gums.
I'm with you on the Marmite thing - Marmite on just about anything, crumpets, toast, oatcakes (Staffordshire ones, not the biscuity ones). Cheese optional.

I think they also put something kind of addictive in dry roasted peanuts, once I start on them I can't stop!

Cheddar cheese (a nice crumbly one) on Hovis biscuits, hmmmmmmm.

Celery sticks filled with wholemeal peanut butter, that's pretty darned good too!

LJ dipped in chocolate..... I've come over all weak at the knees!!! Stilton is a beautiful cheese, but cooked... it tastes like vomit! Houmus, yes please. Oatcakes, yes please. Deep Fried Mars Bar! YEEEEUCCCHHHH! Wine, red or white, yum. Vodka sours, yum. Alcohol, ok!
I can't say I have a fave food as such, I just like to eat. My waistline says it all!

any thoughts on ' Stinking Bishop'. Personally not for me. I was given some at work and it stank out the whole health centre......I denied all knowledge.

                    Oxford Isis.....yummy
I belong to Paxton and Whitfields cheese society. We get a box of 4 different cheeses sent to us on 2nd thursday of the month...and guess what tomorrow is
We have our bestest friends round for the 'tasting' of the cheese and a little wine...a little too much of the latter sometimes ....... Its bliss.
You receive in depth written details of each cheese, I read these out, fun as the wine takes hold! Mr Headfry carves the cheese. Diane opens the box (I save it for her)
                    J. just enjoys!...and stacks the rinds eleganlty on his plate.
A fab time is had by all, we are very lucky to have such good friends to share the evening and life with.

Funny how lots of people like cheese at night...so doesn't it give you nightmares then? (my only nightmare is running out of cheese

Oh Granpadragon, I'd forgotten about pork scratchings - they have to be the crispy crunchy ones though, not the horrible soggy ones that you can chew for hours
