I know my daughter has been scouring my Christmas present hiding place this year as she has put the newly purchased Tintin DVDs back the wrong way. If you're going to be sneaky, you need to learn to leave no traces

One November, about 14 years ago, we bought 2 tins of Roses. This was when they weighed 2.2kg and were worth buying. Come Christmas time, I decided to fish them out of their hiding place in the far reaches of the wardrobe. Expecting to find them heavy to lift, I braced myself - and then went flying backwards because neither tin weighed anything!!

A certain daughter, who shall remain nameless, had scoffed nearly all them, leaving only the brazil nut toffees. A quick search revealed all of the wrappers hidden in her room. Greedy wee madam!
