All these 1.50s add up Such small amounts, but I transfer them from my 'spending' account and then they slowly add up to an amount that otherwise would have been spent all on the above Better off saving my interest imo

I agree! It is all too easy to squander money on rubbish. You can still fire mine whenever you're passing.

And the reason for that is because little boys don't become grown-ups till they're about 85, and need toys so much longer than little girls, who are all grown up by their twenties at the latest.
And the reason for that? Someone has to look after all those little boys...

Yes yes, but but if I (we?) can knock out a little lad, then I can play computer games with him! And build model gliders and stuff and fly them! I love my girls, and I'd like to them stay as girlie-girls, but I think having a borther would be good for them too

          (im trying all angles..).

Not to mention going fishing and stuff, I did all this with my old man, and I'd love to be able to share my experiences! Oh oh, oh and also to continue my surname down through future generations. Unless my girls demand on having their future husbands take on their names? hmm there's a thought

Do you mean a BROTHER or a BOTHER - having a younger brother I think they're both!

You can in a little sweetie shop cum post office in a place called Culcheth, Cheshire. The smell is heavenly...

Girls are expensive - mine has just entered her handbag phase; she is also eyeing up my shoes and make up. The boy is just content with whatever, bless him. However, when he was small it went... Thomas the Tank Engine (collected all 72, got bored) then wanted Thunderbirds, Cptn. Scarlet, Stingray, Dr Who, so much Lego I could build Britain in miniature...now games.
Having one of each is brilliant but the boys toys are the best for playing with. I adore Lego building and Meccano - I also know all the words to Thunderbirds..."I 'ave taken the liberty of packing' your 'Ot chocolate in your 'atbox Ma'am"..."thank you Parker!"

That's really sad, fair enough if that's what they want to do but gender stereotyping is very restrictive and if that had been my parent's attitude then I'd never have had the chance to become an engineer which is a job I truely love .

                      :|

Of course I'd support them whatever course in life they take, be that if they did turn into tomboys, wanted to go into engineering, turned out to be gay, straight, single all their life - whatever.

No worries, am sure you would Chris, it's just my instant reaction to your original post was to go "ooooooooh noooooo" and I can't help myself commenting - and I really hate excessive girliness, makes my toes curl . Went to Toys R Us to buy my God son a light saber last year, while I was there thought I'd look for a birthday present for a 4 year old girl and was appalled by the choice, the boys stuff was great (although rather too much emphasis on guns) with loads of creative stuff where as the girls section was a sea of Barbie pink with loads of mini housekeeping toys. She got a book int he end which always seems to work

I'm with Alison... Can't see why girls can't have 'boys' toys, or play computer games, etc. They only go for girly pink stuff because society says that's what they should have and parents reinforce it. Meccano for all, that's what I say...

I LOVED mecanno and lego . Actually I'd still play with them now given half the chance.
