  • I THINK it's on the shelf in the corner which I can't now access until the tree comes down

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

    • Well, mine was at home waiting for me yesterday. That was a nice suprise - wasn't expecting it until the new year.

I may be being daft, but by "current" catalogue does it mean 2011, or 2012? I have some peas sent to me, purple flowered russian I think, which says refer to current catalogue for info, but was unable to see them in the one I have now! (first time HSL user).

I did mean to bring it into work for something to flick through whilst I'm having such fun learning about some ancient software... but forgot - boo!

      • 2011 catalogue has a lovely atmospheric [award winning] pea photo on the front and 2012 [the current one, just out 2 weeks ago] has a cabbage on the front.

I have all the old ones at work, so if you need a description, pop the veg title to me and I can have a look and let you know what it says.

        • Thanks. Just looked on the HSL site, not much info there - I've my login details at home, so perhaps there's more in there.. but its:

          "Purple Flowered Russian"

          Heritage Seed Library Variety description

Curious, as it says this years. Perhaps I've just overlooked it in the catalogue

          • Donated by Mrs Valerie Fordham who bought them as 'peas in the pod' in Russia. Finding the peas too hard to eat she brought them back to England, planted them and donated a sample to HSL. We found that they are tall plants with pink/purple flowers, yielding small thin pods containing small round peas. Let us know what you think of them. 10 seeds.

            • Thanks, pretty much as on the link

I'll stick them in the garden rather than on the plot!

              • Mine came too! Glad Chris asked about the peas. I was a bit confused too. I shall be pondering upon it anon. Well, once the gender crossing man flu has
Shifted and school ended. Brain is currently feeling like treacle.

                • Yippee, got my seeds today All of my first choices and my lucky dip is Blue Coco FB, so pleased with the choice. Question for everyone, has anyone done a seed swap via the HSL? One of the Seed Guardians - Adam Alexander, is offering Luang Prabang pea and I so want some Aside from paying postage do you offer seeds as well?

                  • I'd email him FF and offer - get in before he swaps with anyone else.

                          • Sorry Zaz the GO HSL site. I had a letter with the catalogue and it had a sign in plus password on it. It says your membership has lapsed or not yet been activated. In my case I am assuming it's the latter. I will just wait until after the New Year now but was looking to log in and see what's what in the secret areas.

                              • I'll be patient and wait - I am sure they've been run off their feet with catalogues and now seeds. I have been looking at the seed saving notes and trying to work it all into my allotment plan. Too excited and need to sit on hands. The seed files are out again..,
