Thanks Jane. I need a comfy seat, I'm shattered! I was up way too early this morning, I'll probably be asleep by 6!

It did make me laugh when I joined the allotment. The chap that runs it is in his mid-late 70's, I was born in the mid-seventies, so I guess we have that in common. When I told him how "old" I was (32), he replied "ooh, a young-un". I haven't been called that for years, made my day!

Mange tout, I am "young" on several fronts - young in terms of posts...erm.... posted, young in terms of gardening knowledge....

Our allotment doesn't seem to have that community feel that so many of you speak, a few solitary gardeners - most of which I have had to initiate conversation.

I got up at 3am yesterday and 4am today. Usually go to bed about 10 or 11pm. I don't get up early because I want to, it's because once I wake up I can't go back to sleep again so I might as well get up. Luckily, I'm a 'morning' person.
