warning odd ball phone calls

I feel fed up with the companies that use this system for getting business but I do sometimes feel for the poor folks who actually have to make the cold calls - I can't imagine anything worse than having to make those calls knowing that 99% of the time they're likely to get an awful response from the person at the end of the line.
It must be soul destroying work and I guess they must be pretty desperate to undertake it - I can't believe it's particularly well paid.
I do try to be polite and courteous when responding whilst making it clear that I'm not interested - although I can get tetchy when they continue to try to sell me something!!

When they've finished the speil, i heavey breathe down the phone and ask them what they're wearing...male or female, they all hang up!

Didn't someone on here keep a whistle near the phone to blow at nuisance calls? Or was that me? As if I would.

since the one i tolled you about wev'e had 4 more,2 today,all the very same thing,on dialing 1471,it's not the usual number sequence,only looks like the area code,and different no's at that,we already in phone preference,so i ask HOW YOU GET THIS NO,reply from data base,so having a head of steam,contacted virgin,put us on a 1 month trial to block such calls,but with the no being different each time i somehow cannot see it working,and to top it all,i missed the end of tom browns school days grrrrr,insistant no brainers disappear,i desperatly trying to remember zanen's words,i really MUST go and write them down and leave near the phone lol,or get a whistle,
