Minor Rant Thread part 5

Ok, not a rant but....

Last Summer, DD's boyfriend had been away on a course. The day he was due back she was texting him, asking what time etc, when he arrived at the door (it was already open to the sun) she had just texted him 'What time?' when he texted back 'Now'. DD turned around and he was right behind her! Her face was a real picture. I am so not that savvy with texts!

mine.....people contracted to work at my work. I don't care about NLP, Sigma 6 , 5 S'ing or 5 Why'ing, Black Belts, Yellow Belts, your work, inumnerable spreadsheets, pivot tables.
SO far, you haven't shown me in any kind of practical terms that what you've done with your spreadsheets and data collecting has made my job easier, or more streamlined, or cheaper or more quntifiably better. Stop trying to convince me your data matters unless you can do something with it, and stop trying to convince me that you really are making a difference. You aren't.

Not really a rant, but....

Today is the first day I have felt 'down' about my situation. I had to go and 'sign on' for the first time in my life today and I think it has made it all a bit more real....

Well, I felt a bit overdressed, frankly, since there were people there in slippers......

RANT: people who go to public places in slippers/PJs.... have some respect!!

...and following on from that...people who don't work, therefore have all the time in the world for a shower or quick wash, still insist on turning up to sign on smelling like they've not washed for weeks!

Jobs are not supposed to be permanent, they are supposed to be 8 week work trials with a job offer at the end if candidates are suitable.

All I want is a fairly interesting job which doesnt have to pay that much, minimum wage or above, part time or fulltime that isnt 30+ miles away from home!

Is that too much to ask?

Forgetting to buy butter for making lime curd and having to go out a second time when you have other things to do!

And Tesco's probably don't have any permanent jobs to offer, why bother when they can get workers for free!

You aren't insuring to replace/repair it, you are insuring for liability to other people. Outside of that "wassup?"
Rant, long drive, big job, poor pay... could be worse, might not have any work at all....

parents who do not bother to let you know their kid is not coming to a party, even at the last minute, where you have booked in advance and paid in advance for bowling. My little girl put a brave face on today - it seems said girl has gone to someone elses house- what a rat.
