  • Mr TS was hit by a car today. She changed lanes without looking or indicating, and cut him up. He crashed (his bike) into the side of her people carrier. She didn't ask if he was hurt, just drove off ...

          • Can we get our politicians to concentrate on getting the country back in shape as opposed to getting involved with pop stars (Adele); football (England manager) and boxing (Chisora & Haye)

                • People who put too much liquid (gravy) in a shallow container (dish) then walk in to the lounge and 'tilt' it, spilling gravy over part of the seat and one arm of the chair (covers only washed 3 weeks ago), a large patch of carpet (pale oatmeal colour), my feet, and the usb connectors sat beside me on the chair.

I've been trying to retrain him to keep clean and make less mess around the house, so I don't have to spend so much time cleaning and clearing up.

                    • Our local rail station, and our train service too. Mr TS uses the train a lot for work & footy, and it's nearly always delayed for one reason or another. He gets his refund/compensation in the form of vouchers, which can't be used online.

So, a 6 mile journey to the station to use them. Queues, of course. Knowing that the tickets are often wrong, I got him to write down exactly what he needed for the sales person. She STILL got it wrong.
I couldn't work out the tickets she'd given me but I could see the return station wasn't mentioned. Good job I checked, or I'd have had to make the journey again to get them corrected.

What a palaver: he has to carry 4 tickets and a receipt, and because the tickets don't have the times on them, a computer printout of the train times.

It's a third class service at first class prices ...

                        • Yet another halfwit driver!

Went to town on the bus today and as we turned into the street where I get off, there was a woman parked right by the bus stop, on the double yellow lines. The driver tooted and gestured for her to move several times but she just avoided eye contact, wriggled round in her seat and fiddled about with her phone. With some difficulty, he eventually pulled past her and parked further on.

When I got off the bus, I tapped on her window. Our conversation went something like this (note I neither raised my voice, nor used any insulting language):

Me: Excuse me, do you know why the bus driver was waving and honking at you?

Halfwit: Was he? I didn't notice.

Me: Well, you're parked on the double yellow lines at a bus stop.

H: What? Am I? [looks around in a pathetic attempt to fake suprise] Anyway, so what?

Me: Have you passed your driving test?

                          H: Yes!

Me: Do you know the Highway Code?

H: [indignantly] Of course I do!

Me: So you know what double yellow lines mean and what a bus stop sign is?

H: [suddenly dawning on her where I'm going with this] Well yes but... oh, oh why are being so offensive to me?! Why do you want to offend me?! [starts car and drives off]

Actually, although it really ticked me off at the time, I suppose I could almost have put this in the 'what makes you happy' thread! I wouldn't chance holding my breath on her being any more considerate in future but at least she might think twice, just in case someone else decides to 'offend' her!

My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
