Bloddy cyclists

I just hit a cyclist he came off the pavement from a cycle pathwhich is behind a wall.
He tried to beat the lights on a pedestrian crossing my light were clearly green.
Ambulance and police were called, police took my statement.
Cyclist was ok few cuts and bruises, he was cursing me, cheeky f****r.

I am shaking with rage and shock.

I was a member of sustrans until money got tight so I support cyclists but this guy was an f'in idiot.

All for the sake of him waiting 5 minutes.

Cyclist Update...

Cyclist is ok, he was checked over by paramedics at scene and was cleared as ok. Just might be sore for a few days. His bike is scratched but not damaged.

Police just paid me a visit, they have checked traffic cameras/CCTV near accident, lights were definetly green in my favour.
They said they wouldnt be persuing the matter further and no charges would be brought
Didnt even know they were thinking of pressing charges. Double

Police told me that if guy on bike had been a bit quicker he would have been hit by a van that was in the lane outside of me.

I'm so glad that the cyclist is not hurt but i bet TS will shoot me

TS loves cyclists...not morons. I'm sure she's all for road safety both ways. I hope the guy realises how close he came to being badly injured and will learn from it. Couple of years ago I got a fractured hip in Tesco car park when a little ol' bid reversed her tiny car through the 'safety' bollards and right into me on the covered walkway...always watch where I am in relation to motorists etc now cos you just never know. I'm so glad they cannot hold you to blame in anyway.

She has several coats Di, proper spoilt little brat she is. But I'm not putting a coat on her just so she can go out in the garden for a quick wee. My rant for today - having to come home early from the allotment cos daughter hadn't taken any food for the kids.

I'm impressed that your police looked into it : ours just say "oh a cyclist, never mind. Off you go guv, they had it coming"

When I was hit head-on, broad daylight in '09, the policeman told me the driver probably had a blind spot ~ what, in his fricking windscreen ? ! And that was AFTER I'd told them several times what happened, and drawn sketches.

True. I had a scary cyclist moment driving home y'day in the rain. I was at a roundabout going straight on, so not indicating. I was looking right, not to my left.
As I pulled away, the cyclist came into my peripheral vision, and for a split second I thought "oh my god I didn't see him!"

But then calmed down and saw it from the cyclist's perspective (my usual one): he came on my left because I wasn't indicating left. He didn't attempt to move before I did, he waited. All present and correct.
I would have preferred him to be in the middle of his lane where he would be more visible, but this can lead to bullying from drivers who don't understand this, and think it's lane hogging.


My rant: people who can't be bothered to indicate, and worse, those who indicate right to exit a roundabout. It's left, you morons
