  • Good to see newbies getting straight in on the ranting.

My rant - people who sit in a 2 hour meeting that is being held to discuss the font and design on the flyer for the village show, and who nod and agree the fonts - who reply to the drafts with 'I don't like the font'.

    She's got to go!

That's the second one we've had in 6 weeks.

Only ever had one here before that I've been aware of over the past 4 yrs.

Not nice I can tell ya!

      • I am on one today!!

Stupid family who take everything as a personal affront, and can't understand that we do have a life and other things to do.

We have over £300 of heavy plant coming this weekend, to continue our landscapng works. It is SILs birthday this weekend. We have only just been invited (by text) to a 'party' on the Sunday that she has decided to have (it's a lunchtime start, so realistically means an entire wasted day of work for us). We have politely declined, saying that we have work in the garden to do with hired equipment.

This has prompted a barrage of texts and phone calls from SIL, MIL and even G-MIL about how we are selfish and could do this work anytime, and we should have known SIL would want to do something for her birthday etc (she will be 22).

Well no, we can't just do this work anytime. We only have weekends and bank hols to do this. We have had to save a specific amount of money to do this work, and plan it accordingly around the free weekends we have got, at the right time of the year.

If SIL wanted to organise something, maybe she should have given people more than 4 days notice...

        • OWG, tell them you'll go if they pay for you to hire the plant machinery another day. Not being rude, but it's not like 22 is a special birthday.

And.......don't buy Aldi's (so-called) Ultimate Pork Sausages (£1.99) they looked like huge bangers but shrink by 60% when cooked and end up looking like cocktail sausages - it says they are 97% pork, but there's a darned sight more than 3% water in them. I was really looking forward to my supper too.

              • Jules, my Mum always referred to non-shrinking sausages as 'well-bread', because the meat part DOES shrink, but the 'rusk' (or breadcrumb) part doesn't....
Of course these days there is a lot less of that anyway...
My rant? SHADOW. He's been so well behaved for the last year. Likes playing with other dogs that we meet on walks, but comes back first call.. Today he developed a bad case of selective deafness at the end of the walk. Someone else came into the field as we were about to leave, so he decides he's going for another walk with her 2 dogs. He's just had a busy half-hour of ball chasing on the hill, but there's a Labrador and a Greyhound, to follow ALL the way back up the field. By the time I realised he wasn't coming back he was a LOOOOONG way away!
Eventually the lady got hold of her 2, and THEN he suddenly realised how far away he was...

                • Hilary, I was suspicious when I opened the packets...absolutely dripping with 'pink' water. Anyway, never again.

Whinge: I was the victim of a spit & run this morning. No....don't ask. It's not what you think.
