took an electric kettle for a walk today

They're pretty good at my local recycling dump. You can drive right up to the skips. They offer help with carrying big stuff and they looked away once when I asked them if I could have a big picture frame which I could see in a skip and was just reachable. They said, you'll not allowed to take anything from a skip but if we don't see you...... Trouble was, it was actually a mirror with a big crack across the glass but I didn't have the nerve to throw it back again. Its still in my garage!!

As you and Chris both come from South Wales and he reckons the 'letches' only help "good looking young women" I would be quite flattered if I were you!

I'm flattered you think that I might fit into that category! However, I'm not prepared to take my rubbish to Chris's dump in order to be upset when they ignore me!
