I don't care what the heck you discuss just keep away from the words 'nuts' & 'crushed'. I am sat here with my eyes watering and I am not sure its through laughter.

OK, I used two hands, really, but it was easier than I thought it would be.

Only just seen this thread and to be honest there are a few comments on it that have really wound me up. Surely people are sensible enough to reason that some people are rubbish at certain things and some people are good at them, people not genders. I know guys who are naturally the more caring maternal parent and have worked all my life in the construction industry. Both are valid as are the more traditional roles so long as nobody is forcing you to do what you don't want to do. There was a thread on the Guardian website the other day about girls doing maths and engineering and I almost registered to have a rant after reading several posts about women being hard done to in a male environment and how we were all harrassed on a day to day basis. Obvioulsy there are idiot bosses out there but I have never felt intimidated and have found that working hard at something you are good at will win over all your reasonable peers. Too many kids are expected to confirm to pink or blue and miss out on the wonderful opportunites the other side can bring which might (might, not will) suit them better.
Re the would you want a male nurse etc etc, no probs at all so long as I was confident in them as a professional. Don't see the woman doc at my local practice as I don't like her particularly and would much rather see one of her 3 male colleagues about anything, women's bit related or otherwise.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
After the slight digression (lasting several pages) I find myself in total agreement with G4, load of nutters (and all the better for it, really sane people are BOOOORING!)

I have just given it a real pruning before it comes into leaf in the hope of getting some regeneration and the tree not having to work as hard getting water and nutrients higher up. If this doesn't work I'll replace it next year with something else.
