Haggis Neeps and Tatties on the menu for tea tomorrow evening. Our own tatties and our own swedes but had to buy the haggis. I'm just too old to be able to catch one of the three legged beasties nowadays so have to rely on shop bought

Rats look a but like a four legged version of haggis, so it may be 'rats n neeps' next year!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

Anyway, I have to dispel this myth that rats resemble haggis. It is so not true. Haggis have no ears or tails and only have three legs which are of varying lengths tapering from short at one side to long at the othe rso as to make it easier for them to traverse the hill sides.

With all the cold weather up north atm the wee timorous beasties came down for a rare sighting in the midlands.
So I ran three over yesterday with the pram when I had the chance!
(and thanks, just reminded me that I needed to defrost some mince asap!)Last edited by Rabidbun; 25-01-2012, 10:42 AM.
