Will have a look laters Piskie.
I have had confirmation this morning that my thyroid is up the (ha ha nearly wrote duff! lol!) creek, cos I have got 5 ulcers on my tongue this morning. OUCH I am also coming down with a cold so I am glad its Saturday tomorrow and Mr D is off
On the plus side my seeds have all germinated. Will have to ask for advice as to how to pot on with most success as they are sooooo tiny (Lobelia, Busy Lizzie always are eh) I think I have seen Lobelia at least potted on as clumps which would save me a little energy eh!
Love you you all.

I took my basal temp this morning and I am 34.6. Does anyone else do this?Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

Hi All,
I am almost certainly hypothyroid. Only today I spent a good 2hrs in bed after lunch, sleeping solidly despite a full night's sleep (with aid of Nytol) last night. Yesterday I had a 'work at home' day, but did absolutely nothing except feel sorry for myself. I was cold despite the heating and had no energy to even go to the Doctor, for which I had an appointment at 4:10. I cancelled it, then regretted that and phoned up to re-instate, but my appointment had already gone. So, I now have another one next Wednesday.
The last time I had a test was around 2001. I was told by an EXPERIENCED Doctor that there weren't any illnesses where tiredness was a major symptom and nearly fell off my chair. Nevertheless he tested me and I was low on the first, then borderline on the second (I think it was TH4 and TSH, can't remember, now). It put me off going again - partly why I cancelled yesterday. I knew I didn't have the fight in me.
When I went to the checklist I was also shocked at how many symptoms I have. The worst for me are the coldness, which I always put down to Raynauds, but tiredness and dry skin are the other biggies, plus the itching. Headaches I put down to stress and pain in the bones I didn't have often enough to connect. Yesterday and the day before were awful though for bone pain. Bit better, today, but I still haven't been to the gym this week...all this was the price for having a great day on Thursday, when I got the first results of my PhD Project and wowed the supervisors with my quick progress (so was all hyper for the rest of the day).
...anyway, nice to know I'm not alone. I have until next Wednesday to prepare for a fight, although it's the nurse I'm seeing now. Our surgery is one of those where they offer you an appointment nearly two weeks later with a Doctor.

Please make an appointment tomorrow for two weeks time. I am not sure the Nurse is the best health professional for you to see. We can all encourage you to go or we could even nag you if you think that would help lol! Hope you are getting some rest.
Big hugs
Tammy

Take a basal temperature test. Google it. I am almost certainly having thyroid issues as I am reading 35. something most days. I am booked in with GP. Feeling cold and tired all the time is not normal, but unfortunately they leave you in this limbo land for a long time. I am not taking no for an answer this time. If they can't help me an endocrinologist can; private if need be!Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein

best of luck sluglobber, you never know, but you might just get a better understanding with the nurse, ask if any other DR in the surgery is better qualified in this field, then get another appointment,in fact the nurse can do it for you,i think, this ooooo you boarder line, cannot treat you yet with thyroxin,i recone is bull, please do not let yourself get into the state i was,if you keep getting the same old toffee, demand to see the enc.specialist, you are now better informed with us lot lol,it's when your so run down that you so vunerable to gobeldygoock,it makes me sooo cross, can you tell, sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

My own personal theory for the tawdriness of the medical profession in diagnosing Hypothyroidism is because, once you're diagnosed and on Levothyroxine, you are on it for life and this comes out of your GP's or local Health Trust's budget.

Thyroxine can also cause issues for the heart so they do need to balance circulatory against autoimmune. Cost I'm sure is a factor too.Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better...Albert Einstein
