Today me, OH, DD and son no2 had a family day out. DD did her last uni exam yesterday so we picked her up this morning and drove to Wisley. We ate a picnic breakfast in the car at 10am, then went into the gardens. The main port of call was the butterflies of course, and they were wonderful. We then walked up through the rock garden, wandered around the veg gardens and looked around the alpine house.
By then OH was having problems with his hip, so we sent him back to the car with son No2 while DD and myself went shopping . She bought me an early Mother's Day present of a Daphne Odora (she was going to get me one last year, but the plants available were very poor specimens at that time), while I invested in a Sweet Box plant. I am going to be redesigning my back garden, so these will sweeten the air considerably (5 dogs live next door ). I just need to make decisions as to what scented plants will be good for other times f the year.
On the way back home we went to Bluewater where OH bought me my delayed Christmas present of a watch (so we could take advantage of £25 off voucher), and used the £5 voucher for pizza and salad at Pizza Hut, so a meal for 4 of us came in at less than £30 including drinks.
