My DD is also a Monopoly addict. Her birthday treat was always 'playing Monopoly' even though for many years we were on hols in France on that Aug date. It was a French set of course, and pre euro.

When at uni, she and friends had a 24hr Monopolython for charity. They put 4 boards from different countries together, and as they went around they would change currency according to which country they were in. Heaven knows how they kept is all going.

Of course, when GD was born, she was given her first Monopoly set on day one! Now she like to play too.
Whether you think you can or whether you think you can't, you are probably right.

I got Jnr Monopoly for the kids at school: some of them have never even heard of board games. They love it!
It's ruthless, but quick. A game usually only takes a half hour.

Only two shoes? Do they have to match? Now, what to choose ~ wellies or flip flops? Walking boots or high heels? Leather sensible winter boots or sandals?

Those are my essentials, and that's 6 pairs (twelve shoes).

Then you really like to have shoes that match your outfit, more or less, so you need black, brown, coloured ~ in high and also in 'sensible'. Ditto for summer shoes. Ditto for work shoes.

Then you have special occasion shoes, bought to match a particular outfit, say a wedding dress or ball gown (lol).

We're quickly into double figures, and aren't even being extravagant yet. We haven't even mentioned the designer shoes you find in TKMaxx that don't even fit, but you have to get them because there's no way on earth you'll EVER be able to afford Michael Kors again.

              Handbags: One ???

              I have:

#1 for school (contains tissues, pens, lip balm, healthy snacks, hot choc/coffee (can't leave in staffroom it gets nicked), mags for breaktime, gardening gloves, secateurs, spare car key, sunglasses, gloves.

#2 non-school bag: makeup, sunglasses & gloves (different as I never remember to move them into the other bag, so I have a pair in each), newspaper/book. Spare house key, spare bike lock keys.

#3 bag: coloured, to brighten up an outfit. Should probably contain a rotting piece of fruit you forgot about.

#4: dogwalking bag: treats, poo bags, whistle, cafe money

#5: rambling bag (bumbag): OS maps, compass, suncream, bite cream, pub money

#6: lotty bag aka bendy bucket: snacks, drinks, boots, tools, seeds, suncream, chippy money

#7: evening bag (rarely used): lipstick, credit card, blister plasters, £10 taxi money

Oh that I could be so organised! I have a pile of shoes in the bottom of the wardrobe, most of which have heels and are left over from my working days - but you never know, I might just need that pair of ..... (fill in colour)..... shoes. Unfortunately, when I do have that need and dig around in the pile for a pair, I usually find that they no longer fit as my feet have spread so much! The handbags are in a similar heap but in the top of the wardrobe - they do match the shoes though!
Now, its trainers, walking boots, wellies and flipflops - one scruffy bag matches all!

Don't do stupid heels or shove your feet into them so they hurt within 5 mins type of shoes (partly cos they look great if you have midget feet but if you take a 7 then they look about like a trannie would wear them or like boats, nothing in between) so only really need a couple of pair for work, Live in Birkinstocks out of work in summer and boots in winter - actually wear the boots to work too so don't really need many pairs but still get it up to double figures by the time I've added trainers, walking boots, site boots, walking sandals etc.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I have sandals (2 pairs because the comfortable ones are a bit less robust than ideal) wellies, trainers, and 'exercise sandals' (wooden soled, not going to mention brand names...) which I wear indoors when the kitchen floor is too cold for bare feet.
I have 3 handbags, large, small, and fancy.
Now there are not many females who would be as uninterested in what they wear and matching shoes/bag to clothes as me.
For the fashion-follower, lots of pairs of shoes are not a 'collection', but an assortment of usefulness. You wouldn't call an assortment of screwdrivers a 'collection' would you? they are the different tools you need for different jobs!

I have a collection of screwdrivers ~ they're not a set, they're all the ones we've accumulated over the years. I daren't throw one away in case it's the only one to fit a certain screw ...

btw, they are MY screwdrivers, not his. He doesn't use them
