                                i grow most of mine in coldframes consistant watering is a key issue , if i dont get it right then i too would have hollow woody ones . i change the soil every 2 years and its very free draining .
                                i put a couple of rows in at the lottie last summer which very quickly ran to seed but that was down to lack of care as i was too busy getting the ground work done for this year .
