Kids used to grow them fine.......p'haps its something to do with the way they used to drown them when they needed watering....

I have never understood why they say Radish are good seeds for children to sow. Maybe I'm too old for that sort of thing.

No problems with the drums -there's plenty of room outside and the neighbours are very tolerant

how can you go wrong with radish ?

I can't grow radish, not edible ones anyway.

They are always either hollow & woody, or riddled with cabbage root fly tunnels

i grow most of mine in coldframes consistant watering is a key issue , if i dont get it right then i too would have hollow woody ones . i change the soil every 2 years and its very free draining .
i put a couple of rows in at the lottie last summer which very quickly ran to seed but that was down to lack of care as i was too busy getting the ground work done for this year .
