Somebody I know's parents have been doing that for about 50 years, sending the same ones each year with an extra kiss on them. It's really lovely and very sweet

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Dont bother with Valentines after sending OH this poem last year:

                            Valentine by Carol Ann Duffy

Not a red rose or a satin heart.

                            I give you an onion.
It is a moon wrapped in brown paper.
                            It promises light
like the careful undressing of love.

                            Here.
It will blind you with tears
                            like a lover.
                            It will make your reflection
                            a wobbling photo of grief.

I am trying to be truthful.

Not a cute card or a kissogram.

                            I give you an onion.
Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips,
                            possessive and faithful
                            as we are,
for as long as we are.

                            Take it.
Its platinum loops shrink to a wedding-ring,
                            if you like.

Thought it was both lovely and quite apt for us, being gardeners.

I dont think he understood the sentiment.....!!

(No I dont mean you have onion breath, dear....honest! )

My heart is like a cabbage,
                              Which I divide in two,
The leaves I give to anyone,
The heart I give to you!
