I'm on the lottie in a t-shirt at 7pm; I saw first swallow today; pear tree is in full bloom; plums almost finished flowering; I picked first asparagus stalk on the 6th March....spooky stuff but I can't help being swept up in the tide:I went and planted up a few climbing beans and 1st 6 Runners sure i'll come unstuck but who knows? I'm ready with the fleece and i've planted up some replacements incase

I know. It can't last though surely. Come on, it's only Aril.....enjoy the moment!

Nothing to do with the hot weather, but a lovely woodpecker landed in the apple tree on next doors plot while I was working tonight. It was a beauty.....I suppose you had to be there.

      Hey Paulottie

It's been a lovely day, hasn't it. I was out there this evening in a vest - just great! I noticed our swallows are already feeding their babies. Everything seems earlier this year - madness

I'm going to miss out on all the lovely weather that's forecast for this weekend too - have to go on a weekend course that my husband is running - hard to say no to that one He doesn't understand my lottie compulsion!

      Enjoy!

      Have a lovely weekend.

Sure is like summer. Late frosts and I'll definitely come a cropper with some things. Everything is so far on.

We had a grouse on our veg beds yesterday.... he looked very confusedby the new fencing we had put up and spent a good bit of time walking backwards and forwards...

They do look lovely though, bobbing up and down... shame the dog scared him off!

First swallow here just north of Hull was the day before yesterday. He's still on his tod though, hanging about waiting for his mates! He obviously isn't confident about making a summer!
At the end of our garden is a wooden electricity pole which supplies the cottage next door (ours is a more recent addition to the village) and we had a woodpecker on there 2 days ago too!
Spring has sprung but I'm not taking chances. Today has been cool and misty here.
