I saw that wink. I burst out laughing and spattered my laptop with coffee. I do love ebay, though I blame them for making my fabric addiction much, much, worse.

I know what you mean about the pockets - would they look 'more grown up/polished' with a co-ordinating pocket? Hard to tell. Could you tack-sew a temp pocket over the top of an existing one with the fabric of your original choice so you can see which one you like best? Or not enough time to un-pick re-sew and spray before sending them out.

I guess you're not satisfied with the final product, otherwise you wouldn't have asked. If it were me, I'd have quick play, otherwise it would always bug me that I didn't check the options.

I do really like them as they are though.

          Not much help - sorry!

Jules they are definitely what Lizzie says - retro Kath Kidson. But I bet the client loves them as they are spot on for a tea shop!

fab, but I would have stuck the cupcake on the pocket, rather than lonely at the top by itself.
              they do shabby/retro chic fine.

They are retro. Shabby Chic would be if they were made from old stripey bed linen and you had embroidered some cupcakes and stuck them on - or if the pockets were made with old hankies.

Personally, and it's only my opinion, I think the pocket detracts from the main fabric.

I think they are gorgeous! Very chic and shabby enough to be trendy. I love them.

I thought that too. I had five plain cottons picked out to make the pockets at first - each one the colour of one of the spots. For me, that stripe, cute as it is, is too busy there. I wish I hadn't let myself be talked out of it. Anyway, I'm posting them today so we'll see.

Just got a text from the lady who ordered the aprons - she's thrilled to bits with them!! She had actually picked out the same fabric in oil cloth for her tables.

                            Phew! That's a weight off.....

I really like them....and although I agree, the pockets detracts from the main fabric...I guess half the time they'll be behind a counter, so actually, the pocket will be a nice new surprise when they come out.
