  • HELP! Variety of tomatoes??

    Hello,

"Grow your own" gave away some tomato seeds with the magazine a few months ago. Guess what... I have planted some and lost the packet! I have no idea what they are called. I think they had stripes on - that is about it!! Does anyone still have the packed and could tell me the name?

Thanks in advance to all you organised people!!

    Jo
PS - it wasn't the cherry toms that also came free

Did we get freebie Tigerella seeds? Don't remember that, must have put them somewhere safe, grew some a few years ago, they were very pretty although I didn't find them very productive.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Don't remember any stripy toms, but several months back we had Garten Perle -cherry, not stripy I'm afraid (hoped you were referring to this months freebie cherry toms).
Apart from that, I can't help.

We had gardener's delight seeds as a single packet, and a triple packet with gardeners delight, chives and salad bowl lettuce (i might have one of these confused with garneners world mag which i also get, but i'm pretty sure one of them was from GYO)
There's vegetable growing in the family, but I must be adopted
          Happy Gardening!

The single packet of Gardener's Delight were definitely a GYO freebie and the triple pack came in Gardener's World mag - get it now and then and was sadly swagged by free seeds being a seedaholic type!

I'm not really an organised person (masterly understatement) but it would be REALLY USEFUL if magazines would tell you a year in advance what they were going to give free - then we wouldn't end up buying the same.

This makes me sound massively ungrateful which I'm not but when you've just shelled out for a packet of something and they land on your mat with a mag - gnash - I could have bought something else. (I'm one of the seedaholics on the other thread!)
Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

I think another magazine were giving away tigerella seeds about 2 months ago. Saw it in wh smiths and DID manage to resist buying it cause I really would have been buying it just for the seeds.
