I'm single and, honestly, quite lonely.
I have tried a dating site, but I find that most women on them are so suspicious of any man who contacts them - and, in fairness, rightly so.
The idiotic men who send messages (which we can all imagine) make it incredibly difficult for us decent men who are genuine and normal.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I'd prefer to share a life as opposed to fill a vacancy....been there last time. It was great when it was great but when you're only wanted in the spare times and mates and old life come first...you kind of can't help feeling second best.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

My 60 yo female friend was only getting messages from older men: she didn't want older men, but the types she fancied didn't want a gal in her 60s. She never got beyond the photo stage, didn't meet anyone, gave up after a week.
What I'd say about that (the photo), for the chaps, is smarten yourselves up a bit. Ladies make an effort, so men should too. There are so many people online that a lot of people get weeded out at the photo stage. Get a decent hair cut, shave, and wear up to date clothes ~ definitely wear some clothes. After a few years alone you give up looking to attract someone and just dress for comfort? I don't know if this is coming across OK, but what I mean is, look as if you've made an effort. But don't go for "eccentric", lol. The chap with the long hair looks a bit whacky (to me)
What's also quite offputting, in real life (and online), is if you're on your own and you chat to a woman, you can come across as a bit desperate, esp if you give out too much info at once. When out walking the dog, I'll always chat to a man with a dog or a child, but lone men who look to be loitering with intent can come across a bit creepy. It's the same with online: be friendly, be interesting, cast your net wide.
Ditto in bars or cafes: be friendly, then back off. It's like horse whispering

It kinda explains why men don't understand women, I've always thought its best to be yourself. There's someone out there for all of us, its just we aren't always looking in the right places, or are hearts aren't open at the right time.Last edited by Mikey; 16-02-2012, 11:18 AM.I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.
