  • Ladies - Bras and I don't mean greens

Have any of you tried the "Genie" or "Ahh" bra please? I'm really struggling to find a comfortable bra and wonder what these are like. I've read the reviews and watched the videos, but would value your opinions more. I hesitated about posting this, it being a bit feminine, until I remembered our long discussion about cups many moons ago, IYKWIM

I've just had a thought - maybe I should have put in Recommendations? I'm sure someone will move if necessary

Funny you should say that... I've been thinking about exactly the same thing lately Flo. Looking at it, the Genie bra is better for the"older laydee" - that'll be me then other than that, I don't know any more than you. I am looking forward to reading some (sensible) answers

I should add Steve, it's probably just as well... unless there's something you want to tell us

just had a slight google, looks like BHS may have them,i never buy, unless i tried every 1 on,as you can get little differences in them, due to the machinist, not takeing the correct seam allowance,

I've had to Google as well (does anyone have a comfy bra?) The reviews I've been reading are very mixed but what did crop up time and time again was the fact M&S sell something similar but for a lot less money.

It looks a bit of a flattener bra to me! Not sure about liking that effect? Sports bras for comfort and something nicer for other times.

Ooooh - they look comfy. Not sure they have enough, erm, reinforcement for me though. May have to try one. If anyone is interested, I currently swear by F&F (T£sc*) cotton Sport Bra. Very comfortable, and they don't move. I wear one for riding, and find it gives enough support. If anyone isn't interested, don't read the previous sentence!

Not heard of either of them but thought that both of them looked really rather ugly and very "functional" so not my cup of tea at all.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Freya for me but more often than not women wear the wrong size. They tend to go up in the band and down in the cup, which is bad news and offers no support. Try getting measured properly as it makes all the difference. I went to Rigby and Peller for a fitting, didn't buy anything but did at least find my true measure. Bravissimo have trained fitters and matched my R and P measure. M and S were way off. Just goes to show!

it all depends on the training these peeps get,a lot of places do measuring, but how good are they, the bigger you are the uglier the styles seem to get,and try to sell you great grandmas,i might be on the older side of the fence,BUT a girl still likes to look and feel good,,might venture into town and browes around, they not look very if any supportive, but for down the lottie or around home might be more comfey, just wonders if they might make one swetty and uncomfotable in the got weather

I've been measured and fitted many times, but it all boils down to different makes and styles of bra. I have bras of different makes and styles in very differing sizes but they all "fit" quite well.
The trick is when bra shopping to take a friend who is willing to scurry back and forth to the changing room with arm loads of different sizes for you - and you return the favour!
