  • What a fantastic day today The weather was perfect, warm and sunny with a gentle breeze. Had a lovely 8 mile walk to see the bluebells locally and there were loads out. Even saw Early Purple Orchids and cowslips in a wonderful wildflower meadow. Sat having lunch overlooking the River Usk and we all nearly fell asleep in the sunshine. Had awful trouble moving them on!
Just popped on here to see what you'd all been up to while I was playing out.
Now I'm off to watch Gardeners World (it's on tv down here on a Saturday because of the Rugby on a Friday night).
    See y'all later

    • Hi LL. You had a glorious day for a walk in the woods. I had another meander as well. Have to make the most of them before they disappear for another year.

      • Yes, quite agree. There's nothing like the sight (and smell) of a wood full of bluebells. Perhaps it's just because they don't last long that we appreciate them so much.

Well, just back from watching Gardeners World. What a disappointment - all about the Malvern Show, with nothing about vegetables at all. It was just Monty and Carole. Joe Swift was off somewhere else and Rachel was ill so some bloke took her place.
I've decided that I much prefer Scotland's Beechgrove Garden.

O no, nothing wrong with the show and what was there from what was shown on the programme - it was just that I wanted them to talk about vegetables. They had lashing rain, you could hear it on the top of the tents - but the forecast is good again for tomorrow so you won't have to worry about that!
            Enjoy the day tomorrow.

            • I've not been before so not sure what to expect. I was told at the Cardiff RHS show that it was about the same amount of show gardens but more trades people and "peripherals"!
              You can only try....

                    • Crikey BM, you were up and about early today - unable to sleep? The sun is shining again here so it should be a nice day for the Malvern Show. Let us know how you got on, VC.
Hopefully I'll be able to get a lot done at the lottie this afternoon while the weather is still dry.
