  • I don't need a trick cyclist, thank you very much. I've just walked past the cafe but it was closed, otherwise I intended to ask him for an ice cream special and see what his reaction was!

Marmite is MUCH nicer than Bovril. I don't like Bovril. My favourite is a cheese & lettuce sandwich with a light spreading of Marmite on it. Yum. And hot buttered toast and Marmite. Marmite crisps are yummy too........
Yes, I DO like Marmite, didn't realise how much!

        • I don't do Bovril because its melted animals' bodies. At least that how I imagine it so its a non-starter for me. Marmite, however, is something special.

            • Just thought - when we all go up to Leeds we can take BM some Marmite to try and VC can get him one of her special ice creams. Should be interesting

O bleeeeeeeeeeuuuuugh! No wonder I don't like it - melted bodies

When I was little I used to think Marmite was made from beef because to me it smelt like roast beef. It doesn't now though.

                    • I know Marmite is yeast extract and rich in Vit B12. Think its a brewery byproduct! Its veggie anyway.
Do you know Stinking Iris - Iris Foetidissima ?sp. According to people I've asked, it smells of Oxo, Marmite, Bovril, gravy browning... Hence its other common name - Roast Beef Plant.

                          • Wish I had your patience LD. I don't mind a challenge but if it involved icing a cake, forget it!! Hope the weather dries up soon so we can get on with the garden.

                              • Hi you lot - what's happening then? Everyone been sleeping this afternoon?

Went for a haircut this morning then bought a plastic box with lid to make a hedgehog feeding station http://www.thehedgehog.co.uk/feedingstation.htm. Took it over to my neighbours this afternoon (well, you can't expect ME to be able to cut a hole in it, do you?) and stayed for a chat. A long chat.....and coffee....and a chat.
It's been lashing with rain again all afternoon, so no lottie Can't believe the change from yesterday when I was outside in summer clothes cutting the grass and working at the lottie.
