  • A 'Relieved' Hello again!

I have been off Forum for a while because of a really scary event recently. My eldest son - who is a berloddy great thing - was at his Kung Fu class, doing some attack and defence moves with a younger student. He stumbled, spun around to break his fall, and managed to headbutt the only pillar in the room! Falling back, he threw out his arm to break his fall, and broke his wrist. He then hit the back of his head on the only piece of concrete floor in the room! He was takne to A& E, where the nurses began to treat his wrist. The guy who took him there mentioned about his head, whereupon they called a doctor, who took one look, ordered up an air ambulance and whisked our boy offf to a major neurological unit. From a simple fall, he had two brain haemorages, a fractured neck, a fractured coccyx, and his broken wrist!!!
Glad to say he is well on the mend, and whingeing about his cast on his wrist itching.
    Kids, eh? Who'd 'ave 'em?

I always knew exercise was bad for you......!

Welcome back! Now that your boy is on the mend, I bet you're cream-crackered having realised what you've all been through. You need Vinetherapy now!

Oh lord, I remember when my eldest two were doing Judo. Never a tournament went by without injury of some sort, and some of the tournaments were quite a way away. It was awkward cos we used to go by coach (not many of us mums drove or had cars) and there was always the worry that one of the youngsters would be hospitalised.

Poor you. Fortunately kids seem to bounce back well, leaving the parents in a worse state!
