  • my first thrush

Not a bird, a yeast infection in my gob after a course of antibiotics. My throat feels as if it has been cut. I now appreciate(well almost) how the laydees must suffer when they are afflicted by this in their nether regions. Doctor has prescribed a solution of summat which I have to take 1cc/1ml and gargle with it four times a day. How in the name of Juniper can I gargle with 1cc

They are usually 10ml for gargle, the only 1ml I can see (Nystatin) says 'hold in the mouth' weird!

Have several large portions of live natural yoghurt, AP - it will help. Add sweeteners of your choice, preferably honey, if you need them.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

That's reminded me last time I had oral thrush it was very soothing to suck on a piece of frozen live yogurt,
(frozen in the ice cube tray) they don't freeze hard like water and were really helpful last thing at night, so the cooling and yogurt stay in your mouth when you go to bed.

Or you could gargle with Corsodyl mouthwash last thing, if you don't fancy yogurt mouth all night

The only good AP is that on the vine you don't have to talk.

              Get well soon mate.

Yep, live natural yogurt...if you can handle the natural without adding sugars, all the better.
I don't want to say what I'm now going to, due to all the other conversations going on...try holding some in your mouth without swallowing. It should help to soothe the irritation and speed up healing...so I've been told. (DD had it as a littl'n)

Nah, not until you've had cystitis of the nose and dysmenorrhoea of the ears. All at the same time !

I treated my self to(and with) Rachel's organic Bio Live Greek Style yoghurt with apple and elderflower/

It is really pleasant. I just hope it helps. It's still like swallowing razor blades when I eat.

I'm no expert on this AP but I think you should have treated yourself to (and with) an organic, unsweetened, unflavoured yoghurt for the best effect. I have a pot of Rachel's apple & elderflower and the ingredients include brown sugar. Thrush thrives on sugar, sorry! Back to the shops!

but, but, but they said sweeten it and flavour it so there should be no difference I hope. I'll know by morning if there is no improvement. Thanks for advice though. I am listening.

Get yourself some corsodyl mouthwash from boots or somewhere, gets rid of mouth thrush like a treat. I get it quite a lot as a side effect of taking steroid inhalers for asthma, and i can't eat yogurt. best of luck!

Corsodyl stings my mouth like mad - I use the little mouthwash tablets that turn the water pink that you get at the dentists.
