I hate potholes and excessively steep road humps - especially the metal sided ones that go right across the road - and I bet they're just as bad for cyclists as potholes.

Last winter when we had all that snow, I spoke to a guy that works in insurance for the local authority that I work for. He said they were inundated with claims against the authority for damage caused by potholes. I'm surprised no one's mentioned that you can claim damage from potholes against the local authority's insurance. But there you go - that might be worth a go for quite a few people that's mentioned it in this thread
