No way my lawn could ever be flat.....Jake races round it at 60 mph and there is nice banking now at one end and at t'other , if I wanted to put in a pond I wouldn't have to do any digging ......
S*d the housework I have a lottie to dig a batch of jam is always an act of creation ..Christine Ferber
One weekend, about 15 years ago, being sick of the state of her lawn, BH's younger sister attacked her long thin garden with a spade and bad attack of PMT. Her's is one of those long gardens, about 120ft, that Edwardian semis always had, and she's about half a mile from the beach, on neat clay, so it was always flooded. It's now nearly all pond, with a patio/decking bit to sit. The pond filled itself from the low water table, and it's only lined with old carpet, over the years it's got an island, and SinL bought some ghost koi that have multiplied very speedily...all very oriental. She has migrating waterfowl that stop over every year too.

Did mine on Sunday. There's got to be a first time !! so i took the plunge. It wasn't quite dry enough really, but the petrol mower did it well enough. It still looks like a relief map of the Himalayas though.
