Why didn't my tomatoes germinate?

I reuse plastic labels year after year. Each winter I stand at the sink with some VIM or other dry cleaner or CIF cream or Brillo pad and clean them one by one.. Takes about 10 mins to do the 150 or so I have.

That's not sad, it's thrifty. As I write on them with a pencil, I get the grandchildren to use a rubber on them. Child labour.
