I didn't expect the "smiley" thing to be so big - not quite so " in your face"! I only learnt where they were yesterday. Maybe I should pretend it wasn't me!

What do I say? 'NOTHING' sounds like a good idea. Well nothing until a suitable reposte comes to mind.

SS any of the things you suggested would do the trick, just remember copper is a wonderful conductor of heat. Gloves are a must unless you've got plumbers hands.

I had to do the same. It's a treck to Morrisons for me so when I finally saw some buckets under a table I did go and ask if they were for sale and the helper went and got the tape. There was quite a little audience by the time we finished.

As a warning, I nearly poisoned my family when I used the poker to make drainage holes. They were upsatirs, I couldn't smell anything (honest) until I stood up as they rushed down coughing and spluttering!

Anyone grow French beans in them? Might try with one per bucket, with a cane in tied to other canes in other buckets to form a wigwam.

Chris I grow runners in them but have to say even if you tie them into a wigwam they are still unstable. I fasten my canes back to a wall on one run and to a fence on another.

Instead of poker use a piece of copper tube, works a treat and no smoke.

when i heard about morrison flower bucket i have one morrison just down the corner and i never saw them, but when i realized that a lot of you buy them, i went to morrison and ask if they sell and one of the staff said that they don't sell them... but how can some morrison sell and some not? big supermarket have all the same product in any store in uk so if down in london sell flower bucket why not in manchester? so i decide to play an old trick and went down the day after and ask to a different staff: " excuse me, yesterday a friend of my bought some flower bucket i think he told me 8 for 99p and he also told me to ask to someone if you may have some more for me maybe behind the counter"... guest what was the answer? let me have a look.. oh yes we got some how many do you want? well now i got 80 of them from the same store... i think some staff are keep them for some friend... so if they say no.. go the day after and ask to someone else maybe you will go home with some flower bucket
