    • I hadn't planned on putting beans in them this year, so wish I'd held onto more!

      • I've asked in my local Asda, Tesco, Coop and Morrisons for these florist buckets but they all re-use them. Not good for me but great for the enviroment.

        • Went to Morrison's today for more buckets and bought the lot - about 8
The chap said it was best to come late in the day and later in the week. Also if I rang first they'd put the buckets aside because "they're only thrown away". I told him that they were well known throughout the land on gardening forums and were known as MFBs.
Don't think he believed but he did say that if the manager had been there he would have given me the lot and been glad to get rid of them. He also said that Morrisons' own the company that make the buckets!

          • Was in Morrisons on Monday all they had were small green flower buckets.
            No big black buckets.

              • My Local Flower Barrow (you know a stall thingy in the shopping centre) give me their buckets.
I bought some daffs (£2) and asked the owner if they ever have any buckets to get rid of. She looked at my wellies, filthy jeans and scrappy old fleece and asked if I had horses - "Yeah....... Horses, dogs, rats, hamsters, a garden" I replied. It turns out she loves Horses and always wanted a pony. She gave me a truck load of them (must have been about 30 or so) and told me she'd save them for me!!

Now I just need to find a horse to use the empty ones.........I didnt lie as such - I just added a pet to the list :0

                • Just as well she didn't want to borrow your "horse" to pull her barrow!

                    • Well I asked at our local "flower barrow" stall in the shopping centre what she did with the flower buckets. She offered to sell me some at 30p per bucket and said if I wanted more she would put them on one side for me every week.

Needless to say I passed on the offer! I'm not going to pay when I can get as many as I want free from ASDA.

                      I was just being curious!

That one had about eight lots of eight on Sunday afternoon that we bought the bike. I bought two lots but now wish I'd swept the lot. Never seen so many.

                              • I finally got around to washing out and drilling drainage holes in the buckets I've been collecting over the last few months.... word of warning to you all..... don't leave buckets with bits of old flower water, stem bits etc sitting stacked in the conservatory for 6-8 weeks before you do this....
