There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

I do take the odd one for the pot but only if deep hooked and not able to get the hook out without damaging the fish. Sprig of dill and a knob of butter...

Beefy,
Quality Shots mate... I really enjoyed looking at those. What beautiful countryside to fish in, and dead peaceful, I wouldn't wonder....
You'd probably love The Wye Valley round by us I should think if you had a purpose to visit... Look forward to more photos as you take them?
Normally dont take the phone with me . When I go fishing its to escape for a few hours .I take the time to relax and let my brain unwind .All the pics were taken in the space of about 3/4 of a mile but the river is around 30 miles long. Will post more pics as and when I get time.

Beefy if you are putting the fish back it would be better to put them on the grass or canvas of some description to protect their scales whilst taking a photo.
Nice fish though!
All this talk of scales? How much did they weigh Beefy
The river Trent is lovely, I know because I have walked on it for 18 years.

LJ its more important not to handle the fish with dry hands so I keep the fish in the water untill I have the camera ready and the rod set down .The gravel is wet and is only about 3-4 inches from the river.I just draw the fish into position take the shot (if you look the fly is still in its mouth - look for the white fluff). As soon as I take the pic I draw the fish back into the water and unhook it with a pair of forceps so I never touch the fish and its only out of the water for no more than 5 seconds. You do more harm by handling the fish than is done by putting it on wet gravel .Once they are unhooked they take off like a bullet and go and sulk behind a stone for a few minutes and can usually be seen feeding very soon after.
