But I didn't just use one template - I googled "create your own CV" or similar and found examples and templates and then pinched bits from each till I got something short but consise that worked for me.
The main thing I found useful were examples of the bit at the beginning where people are expected to blow their own trumpet - I shamelessly pinched this, took out their experience and put in stuff relevant to me, but keeping their trumpety wording!!
If you really want I can send you a copy of my CV, but not saying its the best, as I've never had to use it to get a job! (Am now retired). We used our CVs for customers, mainly.
Good luck!
If the river hasn't reached the top of your step, DON'T PANIC!
Mine's not an online one, it's one a HR Director helped me with. It's up-to-date, since I'm currently looking for a job, and the agencies say it's a good CV.
I can email it if you like? PM me your email if so. I don't mind you stealing the format (and wording, if you like!!)
Ooooh - the trumpety wording is what I'm struggling with!
Plus, there are a few gaps in mine due to ill health and have been told this looks bad if not explained. But how can you put a positive spin on large gaps??!!
Would love to see your cv, Peas'n'Kews! (Excluding personal details, of course!)
positive spin on large gaps is gaining useful knowledge, like volunteering, or doing some re-training, like learning how to cook, or something along those lines

hmmm....mind if I look too? I re-did mine last year, but without really knowing about the trumpety stuff either.
