I'll ask Potty Colin if I can borrow his, unless AP's borrowed it.

It might upset communications, sat navs and plane programmes (I'm glad I'm not flying off anywhere) and even satelite TV

Auntie Flo you can surely borrow my hat but use must promise not to shoot arres at me whilst you got it.

If the worst comes to the worst I will bend down and put my head between my knees. It won't save me but at least it makes it easy to kiss your **** goodbye.

Sky listings on the box have disappeared a few times this afternoon, I've not noticed anything else, though.

It will be interesting to see if there are any Northern Lights tonight, but Murphy's Law intrudes - after an almost cloudless sky all day, it started to cover over at teatime.
Must say I'm not keen to see any record-breaking displays: not only are CME's a great way to clobber satellites, but a bad one could potentially fry every transformer and pretty much every microchip on Earth...
I believe there was a study done recently which said that should a bad one hit Earth, in the US not only would it take five years to make any substantial replacements for transformers, but 20% of the populace would die in the first year due to lack of vital technology ! It is one of the few natural disasters possible, maybe the only one, where the greatest death toll would be in the developed world.
Of course having your own homegrown food supply would help get round that !
There's no point reading history if you don't use the lessons it teaches.
