That said, I retain my right to be a modern professional woman who ALSO likes baking, sewing etc but has no interest what so ever in handbags and shoes and isn't that keen on pink
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I reckon, whatever they'd put on the poster, someone wouldn't like it.
I guess a group of ladies sat chin wagging over coffee and cake is more universal than female lorry drivers.
If they'd used a business woman going off to work, the media would probably pick it apart for being elitist, as they did the Christmas ad for whoever it was.the fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.

two sheds: yep, could be worse!! its not just me getting fed up with the way women are perceived then? I was initially quite thrilled to hear about international women's day a month ago but astonished by the 1950's style advertising!!!! same old. This day was supposed to become quite important and I can't help but feel the advertising(which has to be seen to be believed) took us all a step back in time.? I pray that my daughter is never asked in an interview whether she will actually cope with a job as she has a young child.(as I was, many years ago but never forgotten!)Last edited by petal; 08-03-2012, 04:17 PM.
