I love me a bit of Monty! Not quite enough of the veg growing, but I quite enjoy all the non-edible gardening too I am hoping that one day it'll give me the inspiration to deal with the mess that is generally viewed as my back garden lol
I do other stuff too but would just like to see a more even split .....oh well have the victorian kitchen garden recorded for when I feel the need to veg out.......

Just caught in on Iplayer, early days yet. Apart from the raspberries, not a lot caught my eye.

I liked seeing how he does the green manure. I've not done that yet on the allotment, simply cause I haven't got that much growing space that is left empty for long, but this year I will have, once I've dug over the rest of it. It's not just WHAT he does, it's HOW he does it *drool*
He was talking about the benefits of growing grazing rye on clay soil/claggy beds, chopped it in and turned it over. He planted raspberry canes. Showed how to sow chilli and tomato seeds. Gave out this week's reminders. Hellebores. Scented winter shrubs. Garden design. A thoroughly good mix IMO.

When he was digging in the grazing rye did anyone notice what he described as his "Clay-y, claggy soil???? If anyone wants to see REAL clay-y, claggy soil, get down to my lottie and I'll show ya!!!!!
On a serious note, I thought Monty wasn't looking all that well. He looked a bit grey and bent over -but maybe he's just come out of hybernation...
