There never is that much about Vegetables on GW I don't know if your aware but the BBC are doing a program on allotments ( know about time) for more info click the linky BBC Allotments Show needs You! \o/
I especially thought his comment about turning the rye/soil making him feel alive seemed poignant, but I can't put my finger on it. Maybe we are just used to seeing him tanned, not winter pale.
The "Don" hasn't been well for years that's why he stopped doing Gardeners World for a bit, he hardly use's his twitter account now
Just watched it on Iplayer to see what Monty looked like after all these comments! I would say its time he stopped dying his hair, his skin has gone pale but his hair hasn't and looks very unnatural. I know this will cause some comment but you see it all too often with media folk who will not accept that they are no longer 30. Grow old gracefully, Monty!!
I just watched it on tv tonight (Wales has Rugby on the box on a Friday night) and I quite enjoyed it. Yes, not enough vegetable growing for my preference but on the whole ok. Not overly keen on Rachel de Thane but enjoyed what she had to say about Witch Hazel. My two favourites are Monty Don and Carol Klein - they are both so down to earth (in a gardening programme?).
Monty did seem a bit pale and his face was very thin - hope it's just a case of lack of sunshine over the winter.
Looking forward to seeing what's on offer in next weeks programme.
I enjoyed it - I'm not really into non-veg but I like to hear about it anyway. And I love listening to Monty. Even his articles have his tone of voice !
ETA: keen on a allotment show! Hope that gets made

keen on any sort of gardening show- if you flick through the channels there is absolutely nothing- not that I can find. I like carol klein best, she really knows her stuff- I really listen hard when she talks about propogation and cuttings- plants for free!
Not watched it yet - have it on series link and usually watch the whole episode in about 10 mins by fast forwarding over all the rubbish. Is Carol Klein still on it or has she been replaced by Rachel De Thame? Don't mind Rachel but Carol is much more knowledgeable. Sorry to see that grinning loon Joe Swift is still there, never seems to know much about gardening and cares more about design. Real shame when they did his allotment thing a couple of years ago, such a good idea that was totally wasted by having an idiot fronting it.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Well that could have something to do with Joe Swift being a garden designer by trade lol I like them all, but Monty is my favourite. Carol is incredibly knowledgeable, but she gets on my nerves if I watch too much of her. It's just her mannerisms, but I do appreciate her skill. Maybe I should look for books of hers...?
