Im not a doctor but I think the persons close friends and loved ones do try and jog the memory by re living happy times spent with the person with memory loss. It sometimes helps. But I was only expressing a feeling in words, if i have upset anyone then I am sorry.

Simon, I'm the Queen of waffle and often, that waffle is the muddled thoughts I might be having. Don't worry about it. It's a miserable morning here and you've got us all chattingthe fates lead him who will;him who won't they drag.
Happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.xx

Dear Simon, from my own experiences on this Forum, you can expect whatever you say to be questioned - and debated - and torn to shreds sometimes - but its all done with the best of intentions!
You wouldn't expect everyone to have the same reactions and opinions.
The statement can be as simple as "My broad bean plant is 5' tall." but usually there is an implicit question in there somewhere that requires an answer. Your quote didn't - it stood alone, so readers were at a loss to know what sort of response you were looking for.
If you had said something like - "this is a quote from ...... and I found it very relevant in my life. Do you?" then we would have understood where you were going.
We're all on a learning curve, life is like that, so next time you want to share something (dare I say it!) profound, give us a clue what you expect in response. You'll be expected to contribute to the debate too, of course!
