I have in my not too distant past known art students to cut them up and make 'stuff' with them. lethally sharp on the cut edge though.
A good few years ago there was an art installation at St Martins (Parish Church of Birmingham) made entirely of squashed cans. Could have been an angel but don't quote me on that. Maybe you could make a light reflecting screen for sunbathing or fruit.Comment

I've seen some beautiful sculptures from them...little worried about the edges and kiddies though.
What got me thinking was that after school Bingo, a mate collected all the rubbish,mainly Bingo books, and I quickly shouted that I'd take them....well I'd not had Bingo all night
....she had to fish out a few cans before giving me the paper rubbish.
